Why it's useful

Charging an EV at home is usually far cheaper than petrol, but the exact figure is hard to do in your head: you have to turn distance into kilowatt-hours via consumption, allow for charging losses and multiply by your tariff.

The calculator does it at once and answers the everyday questions: cost per month and per year, per 100 km and per 1 km, the cost of a full charge and a 20–80% top-up, and how much you save versus petrol.
