Why it's useful
Working out the tip and splitting the bill across a group is a classic task at a café or restaurant, especially when you're tired or the bill is large. Doing percentages and division in your head after dinner is the last thing you want.
The calculator does it in a second: it shows the tip, the total with the bill, and each guest's share. Tipping norms vary a lot by country, so the percent is adjustable — from a token 5% to 20% and beyond.

It depends on the country: usually 15–20% in the US, 5–10% in Europe, and in some places a service charge is already included. The default is 10% — adjust it to your situation.
